Mission:

Mrs. Sandifer’s goal is to help each student achieve his or her best college placement, first through improved test scores and then, if desired, through help with the application process to selective schools.

About Me:

Mrs. Sandifer has helped students in Northeast Louisiana achieve their college admissions goals for over a decade. As an undergraduate, she attended the College of William and Mary, and later went on to graduate cum laude from Tulane Law School, so she is personally familiar with challenging admissions processes. She has had tremendous success as an ACT coach and tutor, and her greatest joy is watching students attain admission to schools that will allow them to realize their dreams.

She has been a teacher since 2001, and has held her current position at Neville High School in Monroe, Louisiana, since 2007.  Currently, she teaches AP and Dual Enrollment English IV, ACT Prep, AP Government and Politics, and AP Capstone Seminar, and serves as the English Department Chair.  Previously, she has taught at Jesus the Good Shephard School and St. Frederick High School in Monroe, and St. Mary’s Dominican High School in New Orleans.

In addition to her JD, Mrs. Sandifer holds a Masters of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Gifted Education from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, where she graduated summa cum laude in 2007.   She was recognized as Monroe City School’s Teacher of the Year for 2010-2011, and has received recognition at the state level for her students’ superior AP scores. However, she considers her most meaningful honor to be the fact that, for the past 10 years, she has been chosen by a graduating senior as his or her most influential teacher at the Neville Top Twenty Banquet each spring.

For Mrs. Sandifer, both teaching and tutoring are primarily about building relationships with students.  Her classes are interactive and student-driven, and she strives to motivate all students to excel.  Through engaging classes, students improve not only their skills, but also their self-confidence.
